Laura Herrington

Laura Herrington is the newest addition to New Perspectives, having joined the team in September 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Belhaven University and a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. Laura is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations through the American College of Financial Services.

Laura has spent the majority of her career working in the clinical Microbiology laboratories at Mississippi Baptist Health Systems and St Dominic Hospital. Despite coming from a medical background (both of Laura’s parents were medical doctors), she has long had a deep interest in investing and financial planning. It started as a young teenager when her parents gave her a larger than usual allowance with a few strings attached, such as having to budget her allowance to buy her own meals and clothing! It helped her to realize the power of choice and responsible planning and began a lifelong interest in the world of possibilities that can be accessed through sound planning, delayed gratification, and wise financial choices. Laura decided she would really love the opportunity to work with people on a more personal level – specifically, in the area of personal finance.

Laura loves learning and is a voracious reader of books, journals, online articles, and all things of the printed word. Laura lives in Brandon with her two adorable shih-tzus Sammy and Pip. She also has a fiancé named Chris McNeece who lives in Florence. Laura is incredibly happy to have the opportunity to work with and learn from Nancy Lottridge Anderson, Ryder Taff, and the entire New Perspectives team.
